Some assessments may include voice and video prompts.  If you have issues enabling your device’s webcam or experiencing blocked permissions on your device, follow the following instructions to ensure all permissions are enabled (pop-up's and redirects). Keep in mind mobile devices as well as 'flip' or tablet style devices are not compatible with assessments that contain Audio, Video, Typing or Simulation questions.  

Important Notes Before You Start:

  • You'll be adjusting browser security settings. It's good practice to revert these settings to your preferred security level after your assessment if you are concerned about pop-ups from other websites.
  • Close your browser completely after making changes and then reopen it before attempting your assessment again.

Google Chrome: Allowing Pop-ups and Redirects & Managing Blocked Sites

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click the three vertical dots (More actions menu) in the top right corner of the browser window.
  3. Go to "Settings".
  4. In the left-hand menu, click on "Privacy and security".
  5. Click on "Site Settings".
  6. Scroll down and click on "Pop-ups and redirects".
    • To Allow Pop-ups and Redirects:
      • Select the option "Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects". This is the easiest way to ensure eSkill functions without issues.
      • Alternatively, if you prefer to keep pop-ups generally blocked, you can add eSkill to the "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects" list:
        • Click "Add" next to "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects."
        • Enter [*.]eskill.com (this will allow all subdomains of

Microsoft Edge: Allowing Pop-ups and Redirects & Managing Blocked Sites

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Click the three horizontal dots (Settings and more menu) in the top right corner of the browser window.
  3. Go to "Settings".
  4. In the left-hand menu, click on "Cookies and site permissions".
  5. Scroll down and click on "Pop-ups and redirects".
    • To Allow Pop-ups and Redirects:
      • Ensure the toggle for "Block (recommended)" is OFF. This means pop-ups and redirects are generally allowed.
      • Alternatively, if you prefer to keep pop-ups generally blocked, you can add eSkill to the "Allow" list:
        • Next to "Allow", click "Add".
        • Enter [*.]eskill.com (this will allow all subdomains of

    • While still in "Pop-ups and redirects" settings (from step 5), look under the "Block" list.
    • If you see eskill.com or any related eSkill domain listed here, click the three horizontal dots next to it and select "Remove".
  2. Once you've made these changes we suggest Clearing your Cache then, close all Edge windows completely.
  3. Reopen Edge and navigate back to the eSkill assessment link the same method you accessed it the first time.

After adjusting these settings, we suggest Clearing your cache and retry your eSkill assessment. If you continue to experience issues, please contact eSkill support immediately with details about the problem and the steps you've already taken.
